	K2 started as a dream turned reality for the original owners. Now, that dream continues with Kathy and her two daughters, Jamie and Jessica, A.K.A. "The Scrappy Sisters." It can be fun (and easy!) when you have the resources. We are known for researching and stocking all the latest and hard to find items in the scrapbooking industry. You will find our extensive inventory and high tech cropping area to be all you need to create beautiful memories. We tailor our classes to fit your needs and busy schedules from beginners to advanced!

	Kathy Shanley Owner Hi, I'm Kathy Shanley, the proud new owner of K2! I am a third generation native Floridian and the proud momma of daughters, Jamie and Jessica, grandma to Anthony and Charlie Katharine, and "step"mom to my partner, Dave's, sons, Colt and Kaleb. I have been a Real Estate Paralegal since 1978, a Licensed Title Insurance Agent since 1994, a Real Estate Sales Person since 2002 and a Real Estate Broker since 2004. I also own Sarasota Trust; Estate Property Specialists, Inc.
It is amazing to me how Scrapbooking has evolved over the past. I still have my Grandma Kay's scrapbook from the early 1930-40's where she pasted every ticket stub from the Dave Garroway Show in Chicago that she attended, which was almost every day! I started Scrapbooking in Junior High School but it certainly wasn't like it is today. What a wonderful creative outlet it has become and the lasting memories people have created are priceless. I look forward to meeting all of our wonderful loyal customers and want to say Thank You to Karen for allowing me to adopt her baby!
	Jessica Manager When my mom told me she was thinking about buying a Scrapbooking store and that I would be running it, my first thought was; ARE YOU CRAZY??!! How am I gonna do this AND Real Estate?? But after spending some time at the store I could see that it would be easy for me to fall in love...and I have!! Already I've had sleepless nights thinking about how I can decorate the store or what we need to order or what classes we should incorporate. I haven't cropped that much so I'm diving in feet first! I have a wonderful son named Charlie, he is a Silky Yorkie with golden and silver hair and he has a personality all his own!! He keeps me on my toes and I guess is preparing me somewhat for what it might be like one day when I do have children.
For now I enjoy being an aunt to my sister's 2 awesome kids and a girlfriend to my wonderfully supportive man, Sven. In our free time we LOVE TO GOLF and spend time at the beach. Living on Siesta Key has made life a breeze and I'm ready for this new challenge at K2!
	Jamie Customer Advocate and Design Team Member Hi! I'm Jamie and after I get over being shy, you will be amazed at how fun and insane I am. My husband, Richie and I have 2 wonderful children: Anthony, who is a fun loving, WILD CHILD and Charlie, who is the Sweetest Princess you'll ever meet. You may see her hanging around the store with me! I am a photographer by nature and lover of all things artsy. Please be warned that you will most always find me with glue on my hands and paint in my hair! I got into scrapbooking as a Junior in highschool. We were moving from the East Coast of Florida to Englewood and I wanted an album to remember my friends so I whipped out the construction paper and old magazines and made my first book. I also enjoy turning old into new and fabulous. They throw it away and I paint it, cut it, glue it, break it, hang it, and make it new and wonderful! I look forward to meeting all the K2 Scrappers and can't wait to get my hands sticky!

	Rita Design Team Member I was born in Philadelphia, PA and raised at Quantico, VA ….. yep, a military brat (Semper Fi). I met my husband, Steven, when we both worked for different areas of Deere & Co. in Moline, IL. We have been married for 29 years and have two beautiful children, Kristin who lives in West Des Moines, IA and Michael, who lives in Moline. (And within 8 months of each other – October 2009 to June 2010 – they both got married!) Steven retired from Deere & Co. in 2006 and we moved to Venice, Florida for the winter weather and golfing. (I do have clubs!) I was at a loss to find something to do and my first journey ‘outside the box’ was glass fusing. Then I found K2! I have always been artsy in some form …. Acrylic painting, beading, mosaics, glass fusing and scrapbooking. I love painting on furniture but lately I have been so involved in scrapping that everything else has gone by the wayside. Being a part of the K2 Krewe has been most responsible for that, but I truly love playing with paper and all the ‘stuff’ that goes with it.
Our family at K2 is wonderful and even when we’re not working you can sometimes find us here ‘playing’. Thanks Kathy and Jessica for letting me be a part of the family.

	Tacita Design Team Member Born and raised in New York, I moved down to Florida after my high school graduation. I met my husband Bret two weeks later and we were married in June 2001. The following year I received an Elementary Education degree from the University of South Florida and taught fourth grade for five years. In January 2006 we welcomed our beautiful and amazing daughter Gabrielle! Since then, I have been blessed in having the best job in the world….a stay at home mommy! We enjoy reading, going to the beach, being outside, and are HUGE hockey fanatics! I have always loved to create- whether its scrapbook pages, altered art, or a fun project with Gabrielle! I am always on the lookout for fun, new creative ideas and am so thankful to have found K2! I am very excited to be part of the K2 team!
	Katrina Design Team Member Hello fellow scrapateers!! My name is Katrina I was born and raised in Sarasota Florida . I am a laid back, understanding person with a shy personality… until I get to know you. I graduated from the University of South Florida and recently married my high school sweetheart, Jason. I enjoy going on cruises, shopping, scrapbooking and taking walks over the Ringling Bridge . My fetish with scrapbooking developed when I started dating my husband at the ripe age of 15. I began making him cards, decorating boxes and eventually creating layouts of our special memories together. Now, I have a room dedicated to my passion so I can create my projects with peace of mind and inspiration all around me.
My favorite style to create my projects with is vintage! I love using lace, pearls, old sewing patterns, crackle paint, old buttons and feathers in a unique fashion. Tim Holtz is my idol and his amazing paper distresser is fabulous… I use it on everything! Also, I enjoy learning new techniques and experimenting with new products. I am honored to become part of the K2 design team and I look forward to meeting new friends and sharing creative ideas.

	Margeaux So who is Margeaux? She is the K2 Mascot who graces our ads and mailings. Who created her? The design team at K2, with a little help from their friends! Margeaux has been professionally photographed as she goes on the journey of a lifetime! She is our version of a Circle Journal...for those of you who don't know what a circle journal is, it is a journal that is passed between friends, usually through the mail, and each person adds to it as they see fit. Our version is a little different...Margeaux is going to go home with each and every one of us who wants her, and her journey and experiences will be documented by each respective scrapper, to create the Life of Margeaux!
